Roof Ventilation

Proper attic ventilation helps reduces attic temperatures to help extend the life of your roof shingles as well help keep mold and mildew from developing.
We can refer you to a mold or mildew abatement specialist. All roofs need a balanced intake and exhaust air circulation to achieve a healthy roof vented system. We can install roof exhaust vents and well as eave soffit venting.

The intake and exhaust vents can have problems such as intake vents being painted over. The exhaust vents have a bug screen which can become clogged with dust which reduces their efficiency. For eave soffit vents we can install 3x22” or 5x22” bird block vents or 4x16”, 6x16”or 8”x16” grill vents. For also have2” round vents generally installed in groups of 3 or 6 at the bird block. For ridgevent applications we recommend AIR VENT - Shingle Vent II - a baffled ridge-vent. For vaulted ceiling we recommend a careful analysis of the venting requirements needed.

Some homes have been built with intake venting but no exhaust vents, a recipe for a moisture accumulation.
